Castle Bank Residential Home is situated in the small market town of Tow Law in County Durham. It is close to all town amenities and yet is only a short walk or drive into the countryside. Nearby amenities include a general shops, hairdressers, chemist, post office, supermarket, Gregg’s and charity shop. The community centre is directly opposite the home and the bus stop a short walking distance.

 

Please take a look at our sample food menus which change with the seasons. We always use high quality, fresh ingredients sourced from the local area wherever possible.

 

 

 

 

Bathing

Staff are available and cater for individuals personal care needs.

Eyecare

Vision Care at Home visit our home and provide a service to all our residents.

Doctors / GP

Our GPs are based in Tow Law, residents would be assisted to register and complete the necessary paperwork.

Dental

Framwellgate Dental Surgery Domiciliary department provide dentistry from annual assessment to any treatment required for our residents.

Finance

We encourage and support you and your family to manage your finances, however we can also help if you wish us to.

Hair

Visiting hairdresser weekly on a Saturday morning (cost to be met by service user).

Laundry

Is undertaken in the home within the fees the home expects all personal clothing to be labelled with service users name or initials and can’t be responsible for any missing items.

Meals

Meals are carefully prepared by our fully qualified catering staff. In consultation with a nutritionist; meals are as interesting and varied as possible.

Medical Care

The Home’s GP calls as and when, requested although residents may of course retain their own Doctor if this is practical.

Personal Telephone

Residents are able to avail themselves of a direct dial telephone in their room installation and calls payable by themselves.

Administration Support

This is available to residents who may require a letter to be typed.

Shopping

We encourage residents to go shopping on their own, with relatives or a staff member. Where this is difficult staff can assist residents by purchasing goods on their behalf.
